Medlab 2025: Innovation, Partnerships, and Trends in Diagnostics
More than 20,000 visitors attended Medlab Middle East 2025, confirming the growing interest in advanced laboratory technologies. Key topics included automation, the increasing accessibility of NGS sequencing, POCT, and the use of artificial intelligence in diagnostics. The event's next edition will be held under a new name—WHX Labs Dubai—on February 9–12, 2026.
BioVendor at the Center of Attention
BioVendor Group once again took a strategic spot in the busiest hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Representatives from BioVendor LM, BioVendor R&D, BioVendor MDx, TestLine, DiaSource, and ViennaLab showcased innovations in immunodiagnostics and molecular diagnostics. There was significant interest in CLIA solutions, Microblot-Array multiplex technology, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) products.
Clear Trends: NGS on the Rise
Anna Kolouchová, Business Development Manager at BioVendor MDx, emphasized the growing interest in genetic testing for somatic mutations. Fabio Echeverry from ViennaLab highlighted the increasing accessibility of NGS technologies and rising demand for their cancer panels and microbiome assays, such as the 16S Microbiome + ITS NGS Assay.
POCT, Automation, and AI Shaping the Future
Valérie Preud’homme from DiaSource introduced a new Rapid Test Reader for POCT tests, which generated strong interest due to the global trend toward automation and AI in diagnostics. There was also increased engagement from regions such as Central Asia and Africa.Eva Dulavová from BioVendor LM observed key trends in POCT, syndromic testing, and chip technology development. Erik Nomilner from BioVendor R&D noted the rising demand for point-of-care diagnostics and BioVendor’s introduction of the MxA lateral flow POCT test, alongside continued interest in ELISA kits.
This Year Marked by New Partnerships
“There was significant interest in our entire portfolio, not just in new products, which is fantastic. Of course, CLIA and MBA were the biggest draws,” says Michal Šteffl, Head of International Trade at TestLine. “In just a few years, discussions have shifted from basic company introductions to highly strategic and business-oriented topics. The growing visitor interest in the trade fair, our ever-expanding international presence, and the continuous product development, have resulted in a fantastic event with plenty of high-quality meetings and new friendships. We are truly thankful to all our existing and new partners who visited us. Hope to see you soon again!”
Medlab Is More Than a Trade Fair
This year’s event included a strong scientific conference program, with 12 conference tracks, over 200 speakers, and more than 4,000 delegates. Key topics included AI in diagnostics, genetics, personalized healthcare, and the newly introduced Women’s Health Leadership Forum.
What’s Next: WHX Labs Dubai 2026
